Gen Con provides thousands of games to the community each year. However, a lot of smaller games are not represented proportionally to their demand. This is what MAMS Gaming is trying to address.
In 2010 and 2011, we attended Gen Con to play games we weren’t able to during the rest of the year. However, opportunities to play were extremely limited due to either very small or no availability. This is unacceptable. So, after Gen Con 2011, we decided to start MAMS Gaming. The goal: to provide games we want to play to others.
For the next 3 years, we have run a very limited number of events, 4 to 6 events throughout the weekend. Each year, we have sold out events and received great feedback from our players.
So that brings us to Gen Con 2015. We are currently working with Hunter Books, developers of the Outbreak: Undead and Outbreak: Deep Space RPGs to offer a much larger selection of events. In addition, we hope to provide events using the FATE and CYPHER RPGs. We are also trying to team up with other independent GMs so we can support our extremely optimistic event offering.
